Taylor’s Very Very Old Tawny, Platinum Jubilee edition. Bottled in 2022. Sweet on the nose with honey and lemon and a richness which outshines all the other wines at this tasting. Just as rich on the palate as on the nose, with marmalade and lemon and an amazing depth and complexity of flavour. Great grip on the finish, an aftertaste and finish which are incredibly intense. So big! Clearly no compromises were made when this wine was blended. What a fitting tribute to Queen Elizabeth II. 96/100. Tasted 16-May-2024. My wine of the night.

Taylor VVO Tawny Port Platinum Jubilee Edition. Med dark tawny/brown. Light vinagrinho, sweet lime, and sweet apricot on the nose. A big, powerful wine with significant torrefacted notes. Possibly also some orange bitters? Several loved this; I merely enjoyed it a lot. 94 points.

'No compromises' as Alex puts it, is exactly right. I loved this.
