1989 Churchill Fojo

Post by nac »

Part of Churchill vertical tasting @ B&F, Tuesday 1st March 2022.

One of six different bottles supplied for the tasting by the Churchill Grahams. Many thanks to Johnny & Jamie.

Bottle looked in perfect condition, but only arrived the morning before the tasting so wasn't able to settle before being decanted (approx 24 hours before tasting). Pretty good cork with "FOJO 1989" clearly stamped.

Similarly fruity to the 87 but with some dryness to even things out. A slight rubber note that burned off (thankfully). Strawberries and toffee. Good.

Attractively dark colour. A little stink at first but that blew off. The palate very dry. Not as floral as i would expect of a minor year for SQVP. Really rather good.

75% opacity, deep dark red. End of note.
