Taylor’s Golden Age, 50YO Tawny, bottled in 2022. A delicious caramelised orange on the nose, sweet yet also balanced by a little acidity. Balanced entry with an attractive palate. Nicely constructed, with an elegance lacking on some of the Single Harvest Tawnies tasted alongside this wine. Good acidity with a nicely balanced set of flavours, brown apple and caramel finish. Deliciously put together, full of honeyed fruit and showing nicely. Rather sweet on the finish though; perhaps not a wine which could be drunk more than a glass or two at a time. 93/100. Tasted 16-May-2024.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

Taylor 50 Year Old Tawny Port "Golden Age". Med dark tawny with a greening rim. Butterscotch, caramel, dried apricot, and light brown sugar are the primary notes on the nose. Rich and smooth palate - not as bold as expected. Very nice and easy to drink, but lacks depth and power for a 50. Still, 95 points for just being fabulous.

All of these wines were various shades of orange/brown/red reading from the rim. A bit of rancio on the nose. Sweet. Nutty. Raisins. Still very good even if you've had the others.

40% opacity, brown-orange, amber rim. Almond and butterscotch on the nose. Fresh and lively, seville oranges, good length, nicely balanced acidity.
