1992 Graham Malvedos

Deep red. Big brooding nose promising much power. Lots of extract. Cherry. A long way from ready. Very promising.

Consumed 6/4/22.

Deeply coloured core with a narrow rim. Modest nose, dominated by the fruit. Nicely balanced palate, sweet fragrance to the fruit with a hint of red liquorice; attractive and rather lovely, filling the mouth very well. The wine shows the potential to grow and develop a wonderful complexity over the next 20 years. Young, delicious, fragrant and lovely. 92/100. Tasted 06-Apr-22.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

Initial impression is hmmm...strange.. with plenty of aromas, albeit unidentifiable! Cherry notes, bell pepper, star anise, tea, menthol, cinnamon and dark chocolate. On the palate its high acidity balances the sweetness nicely. A long satisfying finish with flavours lingering on the palate. I can see this developing rather well for a few more years. An excellent 1992 port. Tasted 06-Apr-22.

70% opacity, mature dark red. Rich red fruit on the nose - concentrated cranberries. Full mouthfeel, chewy cranberries, very faint tannin.
