No note taken. And this port also didn't score.

Pale rim. Cherry scented nose. Cherry and almond on the palate. Spirity and perhaps fading. Possibly imperfect.

1945 Dow, decanted 6 hours. A little reluctant on the nose but eventually some spiced sweet emerges. On the palate the fruit is a little bitter, but sweet and spiced. Clearly made in a drier style, the fruit builds very nicely. A flash of heat on the aftertaste, then a long red liquorice finish which goes through multiple phases of dried fruit, jellied fruit and spice. The nose and impact were disappointing, but the palate and aftertaste are glorious. 94/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
