Orange rim. Nose a bit dumb. Good mouthfeel but a little bitter. Fading? Spirity. Warm licorice appearing later. Pleasant.

1945 Warre, decanted 2 hours. Rust red in colour but with a little red jelly fruit on the nose. Smooth on the palate, red jelly fruit with a fiery core. Slightly dry but with a delightful elegance. Some slight heat on the aftertaste, then a long and very fine redcurrant and chilli finish. Lovely. 90/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
