1945 Ramos Pinto
Re: 1945 Ramos Pinto
35% opacity, red-orange. Sweet nose, cherries.
Soft entry, chewy red fruit, cherry and strawberry, very gentle heat mid palate. Very nice.

Very pale rim. Wine starting to brown. Some spirit and pine on the nose. Lovely sweet fruit on the front palate, and then lots of warming apricot and spice. This continued to develop through the evening and was delicious. Underrated in the scoring.

Re: 1945 Ramos Pinto
1945 Ramos Pinto, decanted 2 hours. Rich and exotic sweet red fruit on the nose. Sweet fruit, mature and bold, such a fabulously big wine. Astonishingly, there are still tannins in the fruit on the palate and a little fire on the tongue. Redcurrant jelly on the aftertaste and finish. Slightly too aggressive, but might be better with a little more time in the glass. 88/100.
